Objectives of the call for proposals
The Paris Seine initiative is supported by four institutions: the University of Cergy-Pontoise, ESSEC, EISTI and ENSEA. It has € 7.4 million annually. One of the central challenges of PSI is the strengthening of the scientific potential, the visibility and international attractiveness and the research excellence of the partner institutions.
The Fellowships in Residence Program of the Paris Seine Initiative – Institute for Advanced Studies (PSI-IAS) is an international visiting program promoted by the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS). Through the hosting in residence of researchers (juniors and senior), for a duration ranging from 4 months to one year, this program aims to promote international research collaborations within PSI and to strengthen the attractiveness of its institutions.
Description of the program
The PSI-IAS Fellowships program will host 10 researchers in residence during the academic year 2019-2020. Researchers of all nationalities are eligible. Researchers who have stayed in France for a total of more than 12 months in the three years preceding this call are not eligible. Researchers are invited for periods of stay between 4 months and one year. Fellows in Residence will have a double affiliation :
- At the IAS, where they participate in transversal scientific activities: Fellows Seminar and guest readings, participation in scientific events organized within the framework of the IAS and possibility of organizing events on the initiative of the Fellows, in connection with researchers from Paris Seine
- In one of the departments or research centers of the Paris Seine institutions. All themes are eligible. Fellows are expected to develop a research program linked to the research activity conducted by the Paris Seine teams. The scientific quality of this research project will be taken into account in the evaluation of applications.
Two types of fellowships will be offered:
- Junior fellowships: for researchers between 2 and 9 years after graduation, with or without a permanent position at a university or research institute. Junior fellowships are awarded for one year and may be renewed for an additional year.
- Senior fellowships: for researchers with more than 10 years after obtaining their doctorate. Senior fellowships are awarded for a period of 4 to 10 months.
